Egret and a Pink Spoonbill

Just passing by and
I saw a pink bird standing
and a white egret

The egret started
walking towards the spoonbill
'till they almost met...

I had a very pleasant birthday dinner celebration
on Friday, Jan 9th,
with my sister Debra and my brother in law, Jim.

My son Michio called,
and friends near and far sent greetings...

For this, and God's continued guidance and grace,
I am most grateful.

Sunset on the Lake

Christmas with family and friends
was lovely...
I cooked one day, my sister Debra,
the next.
I was glad to see my son Michio!

On a sad note,
my old friend, Kei Ishida;
owner of Club Kei, in Akasaka, Tokyo;
where I performed for many years,
informed me my dear friend Kenji Tsuboi
has passed away.

Kenji was a true friend to me
from beginning and all through
my many years in Tokyo, Japan.
A friend, music supporter, and patron of my art.

It was hard to say goodbye to him
in January 2023, when I left Japan.
His friendship was a rare blessing,
I cherish all my memories of him.

He produced my last CD, FLOWER.

I pray his soul is in peace...
I will miss him, forever.

I thought of him while taking this photo
the day after Christmas,
in the place I go to get
a good view of sunsets,
and collect my thoughts...
