Empress Onyx came to visit me
for a day.
I shared my water with her:
I pulled some of my ice water
from my straw to the lid of my cup,
and she lapped it up.
It's very hot here now,
kitties must stay hydrated...
My friend Vicki and I went to the Marina
to watch the fireworks.
I went to the exact spot I was at 2 years ago
at my first Florida viewing,
with my sister and bro-in-law...
Last year's event was rained out.
Earlier, my son Michio was here
to join us and visiting family,
in 4th of July festivities.

basic things...
Right now, I'm feeling grateful;
for afternoon thunderstorms,
watching the light change at dusk,
bicycling, and laughing with friends.
Mundane, everyday things,
that add up to peace.
