Egret and a Pink Spoonbill

Just passing by and
I saw a pink bird standing
and a white egret

The egret started
walking towards the spoonbill
'till they almost met...

on Friday, Jan 9th,
with my sister Debra and my brother in law, Jim.

My son Michio called,
and friends near and far sent greetings...

I'm nonplussed, really...

I followed Onyx around with my iPhone camera
when she escaped outside for a bit.
As any cat lover knows,
it's futile to chase a cat,
so rather than try, I followed her
to watch her in action.

She is quite a huntress;
stalking birds, lizards, and squirrels...

Watching her run up a tree
and perch there,
called me to snap a photo...

Capricorn Girl, on the Beach...

New Year 2025 Greetings, All!

I had an exciting NYE at Vero Beach, this year.
2 of my sisters were there, (Debra and Wendy)
and extended family as well,
all in the square celebrating with a great party/dance band,
to bring in the New Year...
I don't know the band's name, but they were solid-
Everyone was dancing and it was a fun time!

My birthday now approaches (Jan 9, Thurs.)
and although in past years on this occasion
I'd always perform my shows and celebrate,
this year it'll be just celebrate.

Sometimes, that can be enough...

I'm reunited
After almost a full year...
'Got my poppy lamp back!

The new year finds me well,
after celebrating the holidays with my family; my sister & brother-in-law,
and my son, Michio.

Before returning back, I picked out a few items from my storage space,
to accompany me into 2024...

This lamp has been with me through it all, while in Japan, on my desk.
It's cheerful colors helped to center me.
I'm glad to have it back...

Happy New Year, to all my friends and family
that I haven't personally reached out to.
I've forgetten no one.

My life since arriving here in Florida, USA,
has been one of learning, setbacks,
pushing forward, and sometimes wonderful surprises.
My family has stood by me.

My birthday is next Tuesday, January 9th.
I've always done a birthday concert, through the years.
To sing and party with my dear friends with me
always took the sting out of becoming a year older.

This year, I'll miss those friends, being near.
I feel out of sorts, this year...

But it's a new year, The Year of the (Wood) Dragon!
As such, I will fight for my right, to paaaaaaaaaartay...

My birthday show at Club Kei was great!

My friend and piano maestro, Hiromu Aoki, ( 青木弘武 )
joined me for a night of some fun tunes,
with a couple new ones.

Thanks to Kei Ishida, at Club Kei,
and my dear friends and fans who came out to support me.

Because of the State of Emergency,
we had to start and finish early,
but it was a good show, and a great party!

My next show at Club Kei will be Thurs., Feb. 22nd.
