I love visiting this temple, especially in Autumn...
It calms me when I'm feeling stressed,
the scent of the inscense,
and now the flowers are so lovely!
Definitely worth a visit!
Watching the foliage; the copper-y red Japanese maple leaves
glowing in afternoon sunlight,
combined with the sounds of chanting, and beating of large drums,
while smoky incense wafted through the air, brought me a sort of peace,
as I strolled around the place...
I purchased some temple incense, to bring home...

I took a trip to the Takahata Fudo-son Temple yesterday,
to see this year’s chrysanthemum festival,
but it wasn’t happening...
There were no advertisements as usual about it,
so I thought it might’ve been canceled, as most everything else has been
due to Covid-19, but I wanted to go anyway...
I had a mini-hike around the grounds, with its climbing paths
I got many good views of the slightly changing colors of Autumn.
I took photos, and I bought some temple incense.
It was very quiet, for a Sunday,
and I enjoyed the cool fresh air and sunshine...
I visited the Takahata-Fudo Temple flea market, today.
I love looking around there, and saying “hi” to some vendors I haven’t seen in awhile...
I found a few items; a beautiful Etegami paint brush,
a red silk scarf, an amethyst and quartz polished meditation stone,
and a small bundle of the Temple's incense...
I love the scent of it floating in the air when I go there,
so I brought some back home.
For some odd reason at this time of the year,
many small birds swarm and congregate at dusk,
in the trees and on phone lines, near the town’s outdoor cafe’s,
and markets...
I’ve noticed it also in other surrounding towns, the same thing.
I’ll just let that mystery be, and watch not to walk directly beneath them...

I went to the Takahatafudo Flea Market, but the fleas weren’t there.
It was a regular busy Sunday, at the temple…
‘Went to a nearby shopping mall to look around,
and found the most adorable shoes,
and tried to imagine the girl both tiny and brave enough,
to wear them…

Yesterday, I went to the monthly flea-market, at Takahatafudo Temple.
My dear friend, and fellow flea-market enthusiast Kristy, invited/ reminded me of this event.
It was a very sunny, warm day, our small group met, and soon went off in different directions...
I enjoy this flea market;
with its twists and turns all around the temple grounds,
with all sorts of treasures to look over...
But the afternoon heat found me climbing to higher, more shadier grounds...
The wafting incense smoke, traveling on the hillside breeze,
through branches of Japanese maple,
helped to make the heat manageable...
