My mother was born this day...
'Remembering her

I created this painting many Summer's ago,
while visiting my mother in upstate NY.

It's a fond memory, visiting her there from Japan,
with my son Michio, and celebrating her birthday,
August 18th...

Today, my mother is gone, my childhood home upstate is gone,
Akio and my home and life in Japan, gone...

Loss is a bitter pill.

But today I honor and remember my mother, Shirley.

The Storm Has Passed...

My trip to visit Mary
was postponed because of "Debby'...

Yuko and Max's wedding was beautiful...

I found myself in my usual location
and Tuesday is karaoke night.

89F at twilight with humidity high as well,
but a nice breeze...
We all got a little loopy, but it was fun.

Out on the pier I saw a dolphin
swim by, as I sat quietly watching
with my glass of Chardonnay...

A Rainbow Smile...

I pray for President Trump's full recovery.

I miss performing with my Tokyo jazz people.
I now do karaoke to keep my pipes sharp,
but it's absolutely nothing like performing.

A singing voice is an instrument,
sometimes used in musical conversation.
To perform with other musicians on
that same page, is like nothing else.

Is it any wonder why I miss it so much?

The colors of Florida
offer splendid diversion,
for now...

stormy black clouds moved up, and dropped a little rain,
