"Booklet Cover"
For My New CD
Pamela MacCarthy "FLOWER" With Tomoya Hara
The booklets were delivered,
after 2 very long sessions working with Yamada-san;
my very efficient assistant at Kinko's.
My design and text is now in print.
These booklets will be part of my CD package.
The cover is a "detail" of my 2003 painting, "The Lotus Pond".
This booklet includes info about my song choices, liner notes,
thanks, and Japanese translations; my son Michio did.
Congratulations to my son, Michio;
he started his new job, today...

"Listening..."
At the mastering session
KING RECORDS, Tokyo, Japan

My new CD, a duo with guitarist 原 とも也 Tomoya Hara,
was mastered yesterday.
Many thanks to Tomoya,
and to our mastering engineer;
Shibusawa-san, at KING RECORDS...
And, of course, my #1 fan and executive producer of this CD, Kenji Tsuboi...
Over the years, I've had many professional situations;
played with many different musicians, here in Japan.
I've done live-house dates, hotels, private parties, cruises, XMAS shows, tours across Japan,
with the late, great George Kawaguchi and the NEW BIG 4 + 1,
I've done tv commercials, radio appearances, sang jingles,
and recorded 2 CD's;
my first CD; "How About You?", with The Akio Ueda Jazz Quintet.
I appeared at Orchard Hall, in Shibuya, as "the girl singer"
with Nobuo Hara & His Sharps & Flats Orchestra,
and later also recorded as a guest for his CD "That's Big Band"...
But this was a first, for me :
To sit in "the chair" and listen from the most excellent power speakers,
my song choices and vocals,
together with Tomoya's guitar-work,
after the mastering process...
I've waited a long time, for this!

A very busy and creative weekend!
Our photo-shoot was on Sat. with myself, Tomoya,
and photographer Mr. Arai, (新井 博 之) for the new CD...
On Sunday, my son Michio did the cover shoot.
Also on Sunday, was my Ikebana group's show,
I was able to go see it, right at the end...
While there, Lorna took a photo of me
standing next to an arrangement that used a veil, as part of its concept.
Lorna's original photo is very beautiful...
But the concept of me wearing a veil is abstract to me;
so I went digital with the image...
A great weekend!
