"Cool Water”

I made a return trip to Kyodo no Mori park,
and my friend Yuko joined me.
There was a strong wind, and the heat reached 92F/33c,
today, it's 97F/36c...

With this early end to rainy season,
and the heat, these flowers won't last long...
The waterfall and the wading stream were very pleasant...

On the way to the park, I passed these cool flowers:

I made it to Kyodo no Mori park today,
for the hydrangea festival...

An overcast and extremely humid day,
but I was happy to get my gear in place and start painting...

I also took many photos, I will post soon...

”Light, And Shadow”

I did not have to
travel far, to view blossoms-
For now, this will do...

I took this photo in my neighborhood,
the cold winds kept me from going to Kyodo no Mori park...

Because of the cold weather, the viewing of the Ume Matsuri (Plum Festival)
has been extended, to March 21st, this year...

I have a concert this Friday I don't want to be sick for!

I will visit very soon, and take photos of their gorgeous and varied plum blossoms!

In Memoriam

Recently, I've learned of the passing of 2 friends.
Glenn G., a guitarist and friend, from my first band "The Watkins Family",
has passed away.
There are so many memories of those times, music played together,
and the laughs and crazy times...
I've known him since we were teenagers.
He was a very talented person.
God Speed, Glenn...

Another friend from my Ikebana (Japanese flower arranging) class,
Rebecca, has passed on.
She was a kind and gentle person, I will remember her smile.
I have many memories of us all together, enjoying our class and each other's company...

" White Ajisai, Mixed Field "

Yesterday, my friend Kei K.,
came out to join me for a visit to Kyodo No Mori Park.

It has been closed until recently, opening on 6/2.
This was my first time to visit since February’s plum blossom appearance.

It is now the season of “Ajisai”, (Hydrangea)
and this park is known for its many stunning varieties of them!

I haven't seen this flower festival before,
it was quite an experience!

Recently, Yoshie sent me this photo.
It was a good memory of the 2 of us exploring the grounds
of Kyodo no Mori Park.

I miss her, hopefully when travel resumes; we can meet again!

Kyodo no Mori park is scheduled to re-open on Tuesday, 6/2/2020.

My gig at Club Kei is 1 week from today, on Fri., May 29th.

I'll also appear the following Fri., June 5th!

I took a bike ride to Kyodo No Mori Park, yesterday.
It was a perfect day to be outside,
and the blossoms are magnificent!

It has been a mild winter,
so there are earlier blooms, this year...
To be honest, they felt right on time, to me.
