I woke up with "Aspen" in my mind,
although I've never been there, or know much about it.
Part of my whole "intuitive" process,
is to follow the influences...
More inspiration also came from my playlist for August!

I made my 6 month check-up/visit,
on Omotesando-Dori.
At 10am it was already 90F/32c.
There is a long wait, but I had a few errands to do;
first, the Apple Store, to get my ear pods replaced, yay!
Although hot, there was a good breeze.
I noticed silver-y thunderclouds perched in the near distance,
at a store I bought a popsicle.
They made a great backdrop for the bldg's abstract awning...
After finishing my appt., ready to trek back to the station,
to my happy surprise there was a make-shift farmer's market, set up.
If I weren't so knackered by the long day and heat,
I would have photographed the farmer and his wares; all of summer's bounty,
as I remember it used to be; abundant, colorful, and reasonably priced.
I admired this unassuming farmer, an old guy with smiling eyes,
he seemed unhindered by the heat.
I took home a good sized container of raspberries and blackberries...

I painted this many Summer's ago,
while visiting my childhood home in upstate NY.
These lilies were everywhere, this time of the year.
Their fire-y orange color against the summer cerulean blue sky
is a fond memory of July in NY...
It's a strange summer;
Cicada-less heat, masks and
Assassination...
I made a return trip to Kyodo no Mori park,
and my friend Yuko joined me.
There was a strong wind, and the heat reached 92F/33c,
today, it's 97F/36c...
With this early end to rainy season,
and the heat, these flowers won't last long...
The waterfall and the wading stream were very pleasant...
On the way to the park, I passed these cool flowers:
Yuko and I sat together here, just taking this in.
It was hot, but with the wind in the trees, and the sound of the falling water
that fact seemed less oppressive...
