The new year finds me well,
after celebrating the holidays with my family; my sister & brother-in-law,
and my son, Michio.
Before returning back, I picked out a few items from my storage space,
to accompany me into 2024...
This lamp has been with me through it all, while in Japan, on my desk.
It's cheerful colors helped to center me.
I'm glad to have it back...
Happy New Year, to all my friends and family
that I haven't personally reached out to.
I've forgetten no one.
My life since arriving here in Florida, USA,
has been one of learning, setbacks,
pushing forward, and sometimes wonderful surprises.
My family has stood by me.
My birthday is next Tuesday, January 9th.
I've always done a birthday concert, through the years.
To sing and party with my dear friends with me
always took the sting out of becoming a year older.
This year, I'll miss those friends, being near.
I feel out of sorts, this year...
But it's a new year, The Year of the (Wood) Dragon!
As such, I will fight for my right, to paaaaaaaaaartay...
