Because of our distance apart, Covid 19 restrictions, and her son starting school,
we haven't met in 2 and a half years!
It was a perfect day, to explore the park and hang out,
like we did once before...
It was so great to connect, again!
The Cosmos Flower Festival 2019
is going on from now until Oct 27th
at Showa Memorial Park, at Nishi-Tachikawa (Ome line) station…
I met with my girlfriend Kristy and her son Haru to visit for the day…
There are many different routes to take, in this vast park.
The last time we visited there, it was cherry blossom season.
We had found a great spot under a blossoming cherry tree for a picnic.
This time, we took the route that goes down around the pond,
where we stopped to have lunch.
It was an absolutely perfect day, to be outside,
temps 23C/72F with low humidity and a slight breeze…
We made our way around the pond, passing ducks and hungry koi fish.
Eventually we found the entrance to an herb garden,
and we wandered in.
Resting on vivid pink flowers was this large,
majestic black butterfly.
