My set lists:
How About You? I Could Have Danced All Night April In Paris Sakura, Sakura (Improv)
Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most I Put A Spell On You It Might As Well Be Spring I'm A Fool To Want You
I Wished On The Moon You're My Thrill Please Don't Talk About Me (When I'm Gone) I'll Be Seeing You
I am especially thankful for all who came out to my show...
My son, Michio, whom just sewed up another Spring semester at University, came out to take photos. My special group of students of English Conversation came out as well, as did my dear, longtime friends...
Nao was especially brilliant on "Spring Can Really Hang You Up The Most".
We had a rehearsal days earlier; she has a most excellent Bechstein piano at her place.
The last time I performed that song was 1996.
I was a smoker, then. 14 Springs later, although my sentiment is similar, my key is a half step higher.
I now perform this song in A-flat...
I've forgotten to mention we had snow here.
The morning of the 17th of April, it looked like this :
I remember this happened once before, in Manhattan in 1981 or so...
I had recently arrived from Los Angeles; welcomed by very cold and windy weather.
I stepped out to the local kiosk that night to get a pack of 'smokes, I still had my LA white and black opened toe'd shoes on, that didn't match that East Coast weather.
A foot of snow came down that night.
The daffodils that lined Sutton Place were covered in snow. It also caused commute problems...
But by afternoon, it was gone, without a trace...
