The Trick or Treat season is almost here...
There isn’t much of that going on in Tokyo,
but there are plenty of Halloween parties...

I’d rather rustle up a bowl of popcorn,
with lots of trick or treat candy,
find a comfortable chair
and say hello to “The Gang”...

Hello Dahlinks...
I em Vampira, Queen uf za Ghouls.

Take a look at my list of all-time favorite
Halloween movies, one featuring
Vampira in "Plan 9 from Outer Space".

Typhoons, earthquakes...
It's been a heavy week here in Japan.

The Halloween season is here,
my favorite time...

I present my newest computer art piece, "NYX":

I named it after the Greek Goddess of the Night

Congradulations to the Boston Red Sox.
They made it to the World Series,
the hard way...
Even though I am a NY Yankee fan,
you gotta give those Beantown boys
their due.

They just wouldn't say die.

I will be rooting for the Boston Red Sox
in the World Series.

Also a Very Happy Belated Birthday
to my sister Wendy, the Opal girl...
I hope you had a great one!

How 'bout those Yankees?

You know in Tokyo they're into Yankee Ball
since one of their own is in the rotation...
Being a Yankee fan, I'm glad to have more attention paid to the playoffs.
Before Matsui and Irabu, it was almost non-existant here.

I've got a gig coming up on Friday, October 22nd at Club Kei, Akasaka .
I will be appearing with long-time friend, musician, & producer
Stan Gilbert on bass, and Hiromu Aoki on piano.

See you there!

New York, New York
A Helluva town
The Bronx is up
and The Battery down
the people ride in a hole in the groun'
New York, New York
it's a helluva town!

The Autumn colors melt and swirl
making a queue to the drain-

Did you ever feel like a stranger
in a strange town
with those peculiar blues again?

Just a few words about a great guy and funnyman Rodney Dangerfield

I guess there aren't many who don't remember his performances in "Caddyshack"
or "Back to School".

I remember Rodney from my NYC days, in the 80's
at his nightclub Dangerfields
on First Avenue.
Back then he would hold a "talent" night, for all the up and comers,
and some of the already theres too.
On those nights I had off from my piano bar gig,
I sometimes used to sing there between comic sets.

Another one of the great comedians I met there was Jackie Mason.

Rodney was very supportive.
He was always willing to give upstarts a shot.
A lot of today's bigshots knew Rodney back when.

God Bless You, Rodney Dangerfield.
I hope you find that giant room of laughs
in the sky...

"It's granite out there"...

It’s really looking and smelling like Autumn here now...
The rice is cut and hanging in the fields.
This is where this painting was inspired.

Another reminder that October is here
is the heavenly scent of these flowers:

These tiny flowers pack a fragrant punch.
I can smell their enchanting spicy- sweet, orange-y fragrance
wafting through the air into my window...

After 3 days of deluge-like rain,
I present my newest computer art piece, "Jacinthe".

Check out more of my computer art.

This Sunday I will appear at Yokohama Jazz Promenade 2004.

October is my favorite month...
