Happy Birthday to Meladramas,
9 years old, and counting...
Last night,
I had a gig in Yokohama,
with a piano trio of old friends/musicians.
It was a cold, rainy night,
and traveling alone, I was feeling feckless...
I finally reached Sakuragicho station,
when, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
but Bubby's, New York City Pie & Coffee...

I stepped in to get bolstered by a taste of home.
Near the ladies room, etched on the hall mirror:
You look great- Whaddaknockout!
I felt better already...
I had a slice of chocolate cake that was a meal.
With coffee, the best cake I've had in a long time...
Onward ho,
to my gig.
Miyazawa, Takashi - piano

It was a good gig,
and I enjoyed the night...
