Tonight,
Saturday night, was supposed to be
the Halloween celebration...
But they'll be no broom flying,
like last year, tonight...
I'll be grounded,
as a typhoon has blown in...
So I've got popcorn, candy,
and made a plate of brownies,
and revisited my list of 13 of my all-time favorite Halloween movies.
I scored with 2 from that list :

I've been sick with a miserable cold.
My dear friend Akie dropped by
with a care package :
packets of soup mix, kiwis,
and one big, gorgeous pear.
My upcoming 4 month tour for 2011,
that I've been waiting for almost 2 months for a confirmation for,
went poof!
Combine this with a recent split with another music agency
for idiocy beyond the pale,
and you've got one surly-girl- y...
I got out my watercolors,
to paint my blues away...

October is here
My absolute favorite
Sight, sound, taste, smell, touch...

When I need to escape for a minute,
I get on my bike and head for the river.
The river is my dope.
I went late afternoon to cut some pampas grass,
or susuki, as it's called here.
But no silver sprouts yet!
Other wild grasses,
cosmos flowers,
jumping grasshoppers,
and a lone guitarist picking out a tune in the distance,
were there ...
I walked along,
at the time of day when everything gets a fiery glow-
I found some gnarled, dried milkweed to cut...
