Michio and I celebrated the first day of Spring holiday by biking over to the Kyodo no Mori park.
We missed the plum blossoms.
The trees were bare- The pause before the leaves bust out...
A kindly old gentlemen seemed to read our slightly disappointed faces, as he pointed to some early-blooming cherry blossoms; "The same ones as in Washington, D.C.," he reported...
There were daffodils, multi-colored poppies, camellias, magnolias, ducks in ponds, babbling brooks, kids throwing frisbees...
But honestly, I was content just to walk in the sunshine, amidst the budding green leaves with my son, and just be.
