He was this innocent-eyed, rubber faced, smiling rascal,
who made being silly, an artform.
Where else could kids hear such hip music,
or be told such clever jokes and stories?!
And who could forget the "green pieces of paper" gag?!
Soupy welcomed us into his world;
along with his co-stars; Fang, Pookie, Black Tooth, and Peaches.
His pie-in-the-face antics kept us laughing !
I watched Soupy's show on WNEW-NY channel 5,
as a "youngster", along with The Sandy Becker Show, and The Ed Sullivan Show...
This roster of creativity and imagination
helped to inspire me, and millions of kids!
