Today was the birthday of my late father,
John P. MacCarthy.
He would have been 74.
As I rode along on my bicycle
on this beautiful blue sky day,
Rosemary Clooney singing "There's No Business Like Show Business"
on my iPod with that swingin' beat that my father used to nail
on the drums-
I thought of him today.
My memories of my father have not been rose-colored,
but as time passes, I keep the better ones...
I wrote a tribute to him before.
He was born and raised in The Bronx, NYC,
and he didn't mince words.
I wont either.
I miss him.

But come ye back,
when Summer's in the meadow...
Or when the valley's hushed and white with snow...
Yes, I'll be here in sunshine or in shadow
Oh Danny Boy I miss you so,
Oh Danny Boy...
'Till Next Time...
