This piece was created from a photo taken at a recent get-together
at a Gallery/ artists' collective in Eifukuchu, Tokyo.
The artists are involved in a 52 week project
called LANDSCAPE;
submitting a painting weekly,
created and inspired by their own particular personal landscapes...
New entries hung every Friday,
their get-togethers are on Wednesdays
to eat, talk, play music, & critique each others' artwork.
My Australian best-y Kristy
invited me there,
and I found this concept very interesting;
and the gallery owner inviting,
as well as the artists.
What made this particular meeting fun
was the special theme of the invite:
Please wear Yukata!
I have one that was made for me in Asakusa,
I've never worn in public.
The long linen Obi is impossible for me to tie!
I asked one of the artists at the gallery, Yuka,
and she happily obliged.
So, just in time for the Harvest Moon...
I have upcoming gigs at Tokyo Main Dining, Shibuya.
Also, my third Digital Art Exhibition,
at Jazz Spot / Gallery 'J', Shinjuku,
titled
CUP OF NOW,
will be presented
from November 1st - 29th, 2008.
The Opening Party will be on November 6th,
Thursday.
