Yesterday was my weekly Ikebana session.
2 members rejoined our group;
Wiwied & Linda are back in town visiting,
and it was fun to have them with us again.
After, 9 of us girls headed over to the movie theater
to check out Sex and the City 2.
I've been watching this series from the beginning.
To the "critics" of this film I say:
Take a hike!
I adore the 4 main characters in this film,
as well as all the supporting characters.
I see something of myself in each one of the 4.
I am one of 4 sisters,
I grew up relating to foursomes.
I'm not going to critique the film,
I'll just say I loved it;
the premise, the music, the scenery,
the opulence, and the fashion :
Miranda's white ensemble for shopping in the streets
of old Abu Dhabi,
and her emerald green kaftan outfit...
Samantha's pool side outfit,
her desert turquoise kaftan outfit,
and the sequined number
she wore on the red carpet that Miley Cyrus also showed up in...
Charlotte's peacock blue number, and the red & white ensemble...
Carrie's "Dinner with Aiden" outfit, and her flame-red
'reading the New Yorker review' outfit...
I loved the scene of 4 white cars driving on a barren desert road,
up to, and passing one lone billboard of a sheik in mirror sunglasses...
The desert sand / camel ride scene!
The view from the girls' hotel suite!
The "Motherhood; take a sip" scene, between Charlotte & Miranda,
I liked Miranda's style a lot in this movie.
She had a shine about her that I found attractive; elegant, intelligent,
and letting her hair down gracefully.
Her studying Arabic in advance was classy...
Samantha, with her vitamins, blindfold and melatonin patches,
quietly purring while asleep;
dazzling, flirting, offending and wisecracking when awake...
The scene where she was flipping the bird at the local men in robes
had me thinking:
You can take the girl out of CBGB's...
Carrie's narration as well as her role, was the glue that kept it rolling.
I like when Carrie leaves a nice tip and note for the butler...
And the plane...
I so would love to fly in my own cubical
with doors that snap shut, with a bar!
And, Mr. Big.
One minute prick-ly,
A black diamond!
This movie is a perfect trip away for a couple hours...
A girls' time-out, with glitz & glamma!
Congratulations, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristen Davis, & Cynthia Nixon!
P.S. Isn't "Abu Dhabi" where Garfield
threatened to post Nermal ?
Till Next Time...
