I had a great rehearsal with Keisaku yesterday.

He'll accompany me on piano,
at my next performance at Tokyo Main Dining,
in Shibuya, on April 3, Friday.

I hope to see you there!

It is almost, but still not yet,
cherry blossom time
in Japan.

A magical time to be here!

You saw the wise man Salomon,
You know what 'came of him.
To him the world seemed clear as day,
He cursed the sad hour that he saw the sign,
He knew that everything was dust.

How great and wise was Salomon!
Watch out the world is spinning fast
The night will fall, the price we'll pay
Such wisdom's not all it's cracked up to be,
So let us praise such clarity...

The Salomon Song

- Kurt Weill/ Bertolt Brecht
as sung by Marianne Faithfull

I attended the Tokyo St. Pat's Parade 2009.

This year, I joined my girlfriend Jackie, from Dublin, Ireland,

and her husband Hitoshi.

They introduced me to the Ambassador of Ireland; Brendan Scannell,
and invited me to march in the parade...

Representing the MacCarthy contingent...

Later, Jackie took me to a preview of the Irish band
The Coronas;
a group of young Irish lads,
who are taking Ireland by storm!

They're not doing too bad in Tokyo, either,
judging by the crowd that came to see both the live exhibition concert
at Omote Sando Hills,
or later, at their exclusive engagement at live house FAB.

Jackie had 2 passes, so I went along to check out their show...

Although the music was not my particular type of music,
It was hard to not to enjoy their young, Irish maleness energy.

The Coronas are:

Danny O'Reilly; Vocals & Guitars, Dave McPhillips; Guitar,
Graham Knox; Bass, & Conor Egan; Drums.

Their debut CD is titled Heroes or Ghosts.

This song
was the crowd pleaser.

"Drink all night, sleep all day"...

What a concept.

But these fellas got somethin'...

Éirinn go Brách!

St. Patricks' is less than a week away,
I'm already jazzed...

The Tokyo St. Patrick's Parade
will be on Sunday, March 15th.

I'll always equate mid March with a feeling of newness,
as it's the time my son Michio was born...

I've been working on some new tunes
for my upcoming show on April 3rd, Friday
at Tokyo Main Dining.

This is my newest Digital work:

March is here!
Birthday greetings to all my Pisces family and friends!

Meladramas is 6 years old today!

Drop me a line on the "contact" to say "Happy Birthday"!

Yesterday, I re-visited the spectacular
Fuchu Kyoudo No Mori Museum.

Until the 8th March,
this beautiful park is featuring a very large variety of plum trees
in full blossom.

A lovely way to celebrate the upcoming Hina Matsuri,
or "Girls Day" holiday on March 3rd.

Here's also something fun!

In spite of all the things that
harsh my cool in Japan,
is one of the reasons I stay on:

The change of seasons here is high-end fodder for an artist!

The last time I visited this park was in 1996,
when I painted this:

This time I took photos on my mobile phone camera.

I started my walk and crossed a stepping-stone bridge
over a babbling stream...

Then, walking along, I visited fairy-tale land...

I used the macro-focus, to get a zoom lense effect with my mobile phone camera.

I love the detail of the blossoms up close!
