Happy Birthday to all you Geminis
out there!

I seem to have so many creative friends of this sign,
all over the world!

My commercial filming/recording was a hoot!

Without going too much into detail,
(we are bound by a confidentiality clause)
it was an extremely long day.

It began at 5:30 am and ran until approximately 11 pm,
when I arrived home carrying two heavy bags,

My "co-stars" made the time go by like a breeze.

I met a few new fun people, and worked with a few others I already knew.

I don't know when this commercial will be on TV-

I'm hoping to get a copy of it for posterity,
to send to my friends and family...

PCs vs Macs

Michio has started up his new semester at TUJ;
Temple University Japan.

I think he's happy with his classes...

I am gearing up for some canvas action.

I want to catch something, that has eluded me in past years,
and paint it this year.

Now is the season,
the rice fields are being flooded,
and soon the rice seedlings will be planted-

A few weeks later, before the rainy season starts,
the weather gets liltingly warm,
and the sunsets on the fields are amazing.

This is my hope, to catch one on canvas this year!

Here's my iPOD update:

A lot to report today.

First off,
I want to congratulate my niece Jennifer
on becoming a brand new mommy,
and bringing a beautiful, healthy baby girl into the world...

Welcome Natalie Arielle!

Recently, my son Michio & I
did something we originally tried
to do 3 years ago...

We climbed Mt. Takao!

I finally felt fit enough to give it a go,
and the weather was perfect for it.

This was my first attempt, Michio's second.

Because there were so many people,
(it was during Golden Week, a holiday in Japan)
there were long lines for the route
that starts with a cable car ride halfway up the mountain.

So, we decided to hike the entire way,
on the #6 route.

As an unexperienced hiker,
it was an ass-kicker, to walk all the way up.
But it gave me a sense of accomplishment,
to make it to the top!

The scenery going up the mountain
reminded me of the woods of Pine Bush,
where I grew up.

All that cedar pine...

Michio shall we climb?
Well, whaddaya think ?

but I'll get there...

A soba lunch and ice cream cone later,
we decided to head on down the mountain.

We began this hike at about 12 noon,
and it was starting to get late in the afternoon.

We walked about halfway down on the #4 route,
and crossed a lovely suspended bridge,
to the other side of the trail.

Finally we got to the ski-lift
and took the ride down just before they closed it at 5pm.

It was a slow gentle ride down,
and we could see exactly how far we had climbed!

On the ski-lift down, they took a dated photo of us,
to offer as a souvenir later.

It was a perfect day.
We took the train home,
as it fast approached sunset...

And, my last bit of news:

I was selected to be in the commercial!

Till next time...

May is here, at last!

The air is getting that lightness
that both thrills and terrifies me.

That lightness of flying/falling...

I present my newest digital art work,

To see more of my digital work,
go here.

Recently I took a slow boat to Chinatown.

I took a special weekend & holiday only train
from Shinjuku to Yokohama,
and then got on the "Sea Bass";
a cruising boat shuttle bound for the park near Chinatown.

To feel the spray of salt water on my face,
and smell the sea air
was just what I needed.

Cruising along the Yokohama Bay was very relaxing,
and soon I arrived at the dock,
near the park.

A short walk later,
and I'm at the Chinatown gate.

I enjoy walking after a good Chinese meal !

The day went so quickly!

Today, I'm off for an audition
for a singing TV commercial.

Wish me luck...

'Till next time...
